Sep CPI Rose 0.3%, Core Up 0.2%

Higher energy and food costs resulted in 0.3% increase in the Consumer Price Index for September, the core CPI rose in line with expectations.
The Commerce Department reported that housing starts fell by a larger-than-expected 10.2%.
The Fed's Beige Book reported that economic growth had softened in several regions.
