The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 192 points (1.4%) to close at 14,088, the S&P 500 Index gained 20 points (1.3%) to 1,547, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 39 points (1.5%) to 2,741. Crude oil dropped $1.42 to $80.24 per barrel, and gold ended up $4.40 at $747.20 per ounce.
