The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 224 points (1.7%) to close at 13,043, the S&P 500 Index dropped 21 points (1.4%) to 1,454, and the Nasdaq Composite shed 68 points (2.5%) to 2,628. Crude oil increased $0.89 to $96.35 per barrel, and gold ended down $2.80 at $834.70 per ounce. For the week, the DJIA closed 4.1% lower, the S&P 500 Index lost 3.7%, and the Nasdaq Composite tumbled 6.5%.
