Stocks End Modestly Higher

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 27 points (0.2%) to close at 13,595, the S&P 500 Index rose 1 point (0.1%) to 1,510, and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 16 points (0.6%) to 2,810. Crude oil advanced $2.44 to $95.93 per barrel, and gold ended up $16.00 at $809.70 per ounce. For the week, the DJIA moved 1.5% lower, the S&P 500 Index lost 1.7%, but the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.2%.
