The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 128 points (1.1%) to close at 11,971, the S&P 500 Index lost 15 points (1.1%) to 1,311, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 48 points (2.0%) to 2,292. Crude oil finished down $0.72 to $89.85 per barrel, and gold ended up $11.80 at $893.50 per ounce.
