Consumer Confidence Drops To 26-Year Low

The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 257 points (2.0%) to close at 12,325, the S&P 500 Index declined 28 points (2.0%) to 1,333, and the Nasdaq Composite fell 61 points (2.6%) to 2,290. Crude oil finished up $0.03 to $110.14 per barrel, and gold ended down $3.90 at $924.40 per ounce. For the week, the DJIA closed 2.3% lower, the S&P 500 Index dropped 2.7%, and the Nasdaq Composite lost 3.4%.
