The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 94 points (0.7%) to close at 12,993, the S&P 500 Index gained 15 points (1.1%) to 1,424, and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 37 points (1.5%) to 2,534. Crude oil lost $0.10 to $124.12 per barrel, and gold ended up $15.80 at $882.30 per ounce.
