Feldstein, speaking at the Reuters 2008 Investment Outlook Summit in New York on Wednesday, says "I think we're heading for a recession," stressing that he was speaking from his own personal opinion, not that of the NBER, the unofficial arbiter of U.S. recessions. The NBER has not declared a recession, and is unlikely to do so for many months.
