The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 214 points (1.7%) to close at 12,604, the S&P 500 Index increased 27 points (2.0%) to 1,404, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 47 points (1.9%) to 2,550. Crude oil jumped $5.49 to $127.79 per barrel, and gold ended down $3.90 at $876.00 per ounce.
