ISM Unexpectedly Rises

The ISM Manufacturing Index for June came in at 50.2, above the expected reading of 48.5 and up from the May reading of 49.6. The reading moves the index slightly above the demarcation point between expansion and contraction of 50. The prices index rose to its highest level since July 1979 by moving to 91.5 from 87.0.
