The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 225 points (1.9%) to close at 11,431, the S&P 500 Index fell 23 points (1.8%) at 1,266, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 23 points (1.0%) to 2,356. Crude oil rose $1.44 to $120.02 per barrel, and gold lost $1.40 at $874.20 per ounce.
