Crude oil gained $5.57 to $44.60 per barrel, and gold ended up $10.50 at $880.50 per ounce. For the year, including dividends, the DJIA fell 31.9%, the S&P 500 Index tumbled 37.0%, and the Nasdaq Composite lost 40.0%.
