The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 179 points (2.5%) to close at 7,396, the S&P 500 Index gained 24 points (3.2%) to 778, and the Nasdaq Composite increased 58 points (4.1%) to 1,462. Crude oil rose $1.81 to $49.16 per barrel, and gold decreased $7.05 to $916.11 per ounce.
