The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 90 points (1.2%) to close at 7,750, the S&P 500 Index gained 8 points (0.9%) to 814, and the Nasdaq Composite increased 12 points (0.8%) to 1,529. Crude oil fell $1.21 to $52.77 per barrel, and gold rose $8.18 to $934.05 per ounce.
