The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 115 points (1.5%) to close at 7,660, the S&P 500 Index lost 16 points (2.0%) to 806, and the Nasdaq Composite decreased 37 points (2.4%) to 1,518. Crude oil rose $0.18 to $53.98 per barrel, and gold fell $13.46 to $926.05 per ounce.
