The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 107 points (1.3%) to close at 8,505, the S&P 500 Index lost 12 points (1.3%) to 912, and the Nasdaq Composite fell 20 points (1.1%) to 1,796. Crude oil lost $0.15 to $70.47 per barrel, and gold gained $6.65 to $934.95 per ounce.
