The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 51 points (0.5%) to close at 10,337, the S&P 500 Index increased 4 points (0.4%) to 1,096, and the Nasdaq Composite was 11 points higher (0.5%) to 2,184. Crude oil was $1.95 lower at $70.67 per barrel and the Bloomberg gold spot price rose $0.80 to $1,129.20 per ounce.
