The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 149 points (1.4%) to close at 10,897, while the S&P 500 Index rose 16 points (1.4%) to 1,172, and the Nasdaq Composite was 50 points (2.1%) higher at 2,425. Crude oil fell $0.95 to $75.42 per barrel, while the Bloomberg gold spot price rose $6.30 to $1,239.18 per ounce.
