The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 146 points (1.4%) to close at 10,754, the S&P 500 Index was 17 points higher at 1,143, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 40 points (1.7%) to 2,356. Crude oil rose $0.98 to $74.64 per barrel, and the Bloomberg gold spot price advanced $3.65 to $1,277.95 per ounce.
