Wholesale Inventories Increase In July

Wholesale inventories for July increased 1.3% month-over-month, well above the 0.4% advance that economists surveyed had forecast, and June’s 0.1% rise was revised higher to a 0.3% increase. Details from Bloomberg...

The Dow Jones Industrial Average moved 48 points (0.5%) higher to 10,463, the S&P 500 Index gained 5 points (0.5%) to 1,110, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 6 points (0.3%) to 2,242. Crude oil rose $2.27 to $76.52 per barrel, and the Bloomberg gold spot price gained $2.18 to $1,245.83 per ounce. For the week, the DJIA increased 0.2%, the S&P 500 Index gained 0.5%, and the Nasdaq Composite rose 0.5%.
