The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 118 points (0.9%) to close at 13,661, the S&P 500 Index rose 18 points (1.2%) to 1,520, and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 30 points (1.1%) to 2,825. Crude oil rose $2.72 to $96.70 per barrel, and gold was $14.70 higher at $825.50 per ounce.
