The Labor department said that the consumer price index rose 0.8% in November, pushed higher by energy costs. Excluding food and energy, the core CPI still rose by 0.3%.
Industrial production rose a stronger-than-expected 0.3 percent last month after a sharp drop of 0.7% in October.
