The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 108 points (0.9%) to close at 12,379, the S&P 500 Index rose 13 points (1.0%) to 1,352, and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 45 points (1.9%) to 2,361. Crude oil finished up $2.42 to $89.41 per barrel, and gold surged $29.30 at $912.50 per ounce.
