Stocks Finish Lower As Financials & Telecom Slide

Pending home sales fell 2.6% in November to 87.6, a 0.7% drop had been estimated. October was revised sharply higher to a 3.7% rise. More from Bloomberg...

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 238 points (1.9%) to close at 12,589, the S&P 500 Index lost 26 points (1.8%) to 1,390, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 59 points (2.4%) to 2,441. Crude oil finished up $1.16 to $96.25 per barrel, and gold ended $18.90 higher at $880.90 per ounce.
