The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 27 points (0.2%) to close at 12,827, the S&P 500 Index rose 5 points (0.3%) to 1,416, but the Nasdaq Composite slid 5 points (0.2%) to 2,499. Crude oil fell $2.81 to $95.10 per barrel, and gold ended down $5.20 at $860.50 per ounce.
