February Personal Spending Up 0.1%

The Commerce Department reported that personal income rose 0.5% in February, ahead of the estimate of 0.3%, while personal spending increased just 0.1%, matching forecasts. The core PCE Index, a broad measure of inflation that the Federal Reserve closely follows, rose 0.1%.
The Reuters/University of Michigan consumer sentiment fell from 70.5 to 69.5 in March, below the forecast of a drop to 70.0.
