The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 120 points (1.0%) to close at 12,302, the S&P 500 Index fell 15 points (1.2%) to 1,326, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 44 points (1.9%) to 2,281. Crude oil gained $1.68 to $107.58 per barrel, and gold ended down $0.80 at $948.40 per ounce.
