Financials Fall On Credit Concerns

Stocks plunged as liquidity concerns at Bear Stearns Cos overcame a better-than-expected report on inflation. More from Bloomberg...

The Dow Jones dropped 195 points (1.6%) to close at 11,951,
the S&P 500 Index lost 27 points (2.1%) to 1,288, and
the Nasdaq Composite declined 51 points (2.3%) to 2,212.

Crude oil lost $0.12 to $110.21 per barrel, and
gold ended up $6.50 at $1000.30 per ounce.

For the week, the DJIA closed 0.5% higher, the S&P 500 Index lost 0.4%, while the Nasdaq Composite was unchanged.
