The Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 35 points (0.3%) to close at 12,146, the S&P 500 Index rose 7 points (0.5%) to 1,315, and the Nasdaq Composite finished up 20 points (0.9%) to 2,264. Crude oil gained $0.41 to $110.33 per barrel, and gold ended up $15.50 at $996.00 per ounce.
