The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 199 points (1.5%) to close at 12,829, the S&P 500 Index lost 13 points (0.9%) to 1,413, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 24 points (0.9%) to 2,492. Crude oil rose $2.02 to another record close of $129.07 per barrel, and gold ended up $14.70 at $920.50 per ounce.
