Stocks Extend Losses On Jump In Crude Oil Prices & FOMC Minutes

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 227 points (1.8%) to close at 12,601, the S&P 500 Index lost 23 points (1.6%) to 1,391, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 44 points (1.8%) to 2,448. Crude oil rose $4.19 to another record close of $133.17 per barrel, and gold ended up $11.60 at $931.80 per ounce.
