The Dow Jones Industrial Average was flat to close at 11,842, the S&P 500 Index was also unchanged at 1,318, while the Nasdaq Composite fell 20 points (0.8%) to 2,386. Crude oil gained $1.38 to $136.74 per barrel, and gold ended down $18.50 at $885.20 per ounce.
