Tech Leads Decline, Solid Gain In Crude Oil

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 221 points (1.8%) to close at 11,842, the S&P 500 Index fell 25 points (1.9%) to 1,318, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 56 points (2.3%) to 2,406. Crude oil finished up $2.69 to $134.62 per barrel, and gold ended up $0.10 at $901.80 per ounce. For the week, the DJIA closed 3.8% lower, the S&P 500 Index was down 3.1%, and the Nasdaq Composite declined 2.0%.
