The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 413 points (4.7%) to close at 9,265, the S&P 500 Index advanced 45 points (4.8%) to 985, and the Nasdaq Composite jumped 59 points (3.4%) to 1,770. Crude oil rose $2.40 to $74.25 per barrel, and gold ended up $10.70 at $798.40 per ounce.
