The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 553 points (6.7%) to close at 8,835 the S&P 500 Index surged 59 points (6.9%) to 911, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 97 points (6.5%) to 1,597. Crude oil gained $2.08 to $58.24 per barrel, and gold ended up $16.10 at $734.40 per ounce.
